this = white privilege.

“Initial reports describe him as a scholarship winner—”
Shall we go back to how Trayvon Martin was described?

Fucking

Please, tell me how helpful their supposed privileged was to the Chechen populace when half a million of them, including women and children, died while being deported in cattle cars from their own fucking country in 1944. Tell me how privileged they were when their bodies were being dumped into mass fucking graves in the ’90s while the whole world looked the other goddamn way.
Think before you fucking speak about things you don’t understand.

Tumblr: always looking for times to blame the white man

Maybe we’re “blaming the white man” for supposedly bombing a marathon with over 20,000 people in it. Just because the Chechen populace has been put through those horrific situations doesn’t make it any more okay that one of them possibly planted bombs around the Boston Marathon.
I understand that the Chechen populace has definitely not been a privileged group in the past when they had done nothing wrong, but why are we “making up for it” by inferring that it’s okay for one to bomb the shit out of a huge event? Why is it suddenly NOT white privilege to describe a white terrorist as just “a scholarship winner” and to describe a black murder victim as an “undisciplined punk”?
I DOUBT that all of the reporters and journalists that wrote about Dzhokhar Tsarnaev looked up the history of his ancestors, found out about the discrimination against them and thought, “Oh, this terrorist’s ancestry went through some hard shit. I think I’ll put him in a more positive light to do his ancestors justice even though he could have killed 3 people and injured over 100. But his kind is has not been privileged in the past, so this is obviously a good time to give them that privilege through one of them who just so happens to be a fucking terrorist.”
They were most likely thinking something like, “Oh, he’s white? Well, maybe he’s not that bad of a guy. How do we know he even did it? Surely he’s innocent. I should go easy on the poor kid. He seems like he has such a promising future and now it’s all ruined because of a marathon!”
I don’t need to know the history of his culture to know that he’s a likely terrorist and he’s being let off easy because his skin is white, and Trayvon’s a guaranteed murder victim and he wasn’t let off easy because his skin is black. If this isn’t white privilege, what is?
